On a sidenote, does anyone know how to redirect the custom scenery folder to another location? I am currently running two parallel installations of the game for VR and non VR (one with tons of plugins and power hungry stuff, and one fairly barebones for VR). I think I can run higher textures no problem and am going to try to increase the object density and lower the LOD distance so that the same amount of buildings are generated but it makes them denser closer to you and doesnt render further away (given the limited distance resolution anyways). I'm gonna try and tweak the settings more. It runs pretty solid at least for my likings (pretty steady 40 fps, not great but im not picky). So far i've run with medium textures, HDR, low objects, low reflections, and 2x AA same tray tool settings. I found the big issue in performance was object density. I've got the same video card as you with an I7 and just got vr set up today. If anyone has any suggestions for a Socket AM3+, I would appreciate it. My next project will be a good water cooling system.

Mine were getting borderline high whenever x-plane was loading. If you have a similar setup to what I have, make sure you monitor your temps. maybe I don't have it set up properly? Not sure. turn off 3JFPS! I don't understand why, but for some reason it caused a ton of judders.

Here's probably the thing that's most important that I found did the most at keeping everything smooth.
